From Nanaimo to the Cabins at Terrace Beach

Once on Vancouver Island, it’s easy to find your way on the provincial highways. A single road runs the entire length of the island, from Victoria to Port Hardy. This highway (locally called the Island Highway) has two numbers. The southern portion, between Victoria and Nanaimo (70 miles, 113 km), is part of the Trans-Canada Highway system and is designated Highway 1. The rest of the route (243 miles, 391 km) between Nanaimo and Port Hardy is Highway 19. Pacific Rim National Park, and the West Coast communities of Tofino and Ucluelet are reached by taking Highway 4 (from Parksville).

Follow BC-4 W. Drive through Ucluelet along Peninsula Road, past the Co-op, past the schools. Once you pass “Little Beach” and Reef Point Estates, you will see the first sign for The Cabins that says “welcome”, ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE ROAD. About 30 feet past that sign, again ON THE RIGHT, you will see our BURGUNDY check in centre, and a sign that says “parking” for The Cabins at Terrace Beach. Please check in here. If you drive as far as the large building on raised stilts, you have just passed The Cabins. There are signs on The Cabin’s property to direct you to the check-in centre.
